Switchback Brewery, located in the craft beer mecca Burlington, Vermont, was one of the very first brews The Ruck focused on when begining to dive into the craft beer game.
Today, there is a reason why The Ruck keeps a line open ALWAYS for Switchback Ale, and we don't plan on getting rid of it soon. So let's celebrate their continued support with a Night With Switchback Brewery!
We're gonna have a few brews on from them , two on draught and one in a cask. They are:
Using only traditional ingredients, Switchback Ale is a reddish-amber ale which is particularly well-balanced, allowing for complexity of flavor coupled with an unusually smooth and refreshing character. Five different malts, select hop varieties, and our own specially cultivated yeast create an ale which leads with hop flavors and a subtle impression of fruit (our yeast's contribution), followed by a palate pleasing malty finish. Our own special process uses the yeast to naturally carbonate the beer, and we leave it unfiltered. The result is a satisfying brew full of flavor with a remarkably clean and smooth finish.
Born as a classic pilsener lager, Citra-Pils gets the added bonus of a lively, citrusy aroma from Citra hops to create a fascinating blend of pilsener and IPA sensibilities. The result is a complex beer which is clean, crisp, and refreshing. Citra-Pils is our special “twist” on the classic pilsener style of lager beer. We brew this lager in the most traditional way, using only Light Pils malt and Saaz hops. After a six-week lagering process, we dry hop this beer with a blend of Citra and Saaz hops. The bright lemony citrus notes of the Citra complement the noble Saaz character perfectly, yielding a delightfully refreshing pilsener with a decidedly nontraditional twist.
Connector IPA dry hopped with Citra CASK
Connector IPA is Switchback’s first and long awaited IPA! Light in color and body, the beer is designed to showcase the hops delicious medley of citrus, tropical fruit, and pine characteristics. Following a huge late addition of Citra hops at the end of the brewing process, we dry hopped this beer with a massive amount of Mosaic and Centennial hops. The result is a lively, refreshingly hoppy IPA that finishes dry with a quick hit of bitterness that fades quickly and invites you back for another sip.
So please, join us with Switchback Brewery in the house for a fun night celebrating a STAPLE in the craft beer biz. Cheers!
